Merge Data Setsguide > Data Wizard > Merge Data Sets
- Select Indicators
- Select Time Periods
If you wish to merge two or more data sets you can use the Merge Data Sets functionality in DW. This function works in basically the same way as the Data Managment dialog in Statistics eXplorer. This allows you add a few indicators to an already complex data set without having to recreate any data set or try to match multiple files with different structures in Excel. To the left of the panel is all the avaliable indicators from all your imported data sets. Select each of them that you wish to use in the resulting data set. All indicators on the right list, "Selected Indicators" will be used to create a new data set.
After you have selected what indicators you wish to use, you can choose the Time Period for the new data set. This also allows you to merge indicators with different time steps from different data sets with the same name (for example merge "Population Total" for 2005-2010 with a newly accuired indicator "Population Total" for 2011.
